Day 3 of Unpacking

Well, not much to write . . . all I did was unpack boxes. Every time I felt like I broke a box down and things were put away and organized, I opened another and felt like I took 30 steps back. It makes you think though. I sifted through most everything in Austin so we wouldn't take so much; yet I have tons of boxes to open and we are living just fine w/o the stuff we haven't opened. Makes you realize how little "stuff" you need . . . and makes me realize I'm raising 3 little pack rats with a big papa rat. I realized all I need is food, clothes, my bed, & a computer. However Stephen kept asking me where his trophies were . . . we finally came upon them.

On a good note - I heard from a friend that there is a store called Metro which she described as similar to Costco. Hallelujah! I may not have to buy food like I'm one of the Duggers.

Oh, an interesting thing here about Shanghai - just about everything can be delivered. The obvious - like IKEA, delivers and we bought two closets there at an extra delivery cost of a mere $15! Most restaurants here deliver too - the less familiar ones - McDonald's and KFC deliver! Typically the delivery person rides a moped. Oh and delivery is FREE. We did Papa Johns last week. Sammy ended up picking up at the store b/c it was on the way but when he arrived (lunch time - 11:30am) to pick it up, they were out of pizza dough. How do you run out of pizza dough at a pizza place...before noon no less??!! Maybe they don't make it there or something. The pizza did taste pretty close to home - or close enough that it tasted soooo good. We laughed at the menu because you can get fried rice or curry chicken from there too - in case you didn't feel like pizza. ;*)

I'd like to get KFC delivered once in a while...when I am unable to drive and craving greasy food :)
