Two down and HOPEFULLY only one to go! Yesterday was round 2 of
chemo. I find chemo fascinating. Don't get me wrong - I hate it with
a passion! But it's so odd to feel great and feel like there's no
chemo inside, yet your body shows signs: in particular for me, loss
of hair and my WBC (white blood cell). I started out with 3.7. Now,
before this 2nd round, it was 3.2. They told me if it falls below 3
then my third round of chemo will be delayed a week. :(. Good and
bad: bad in that everything is dragged out longer but good in that I
get a chance for my body to rest an extra week. They don't want the
WBC to get too low because then you are susceptible to infections. So
even though I feel like I'm winning...I'm thinking, not so much.
Each time I go, I get to see my gyno oncologist (female) - so she can
chat and make sure all went well with each round of chemo. This week
she wasn't here. So in her absence, I saw a substitute doc - male.
He walks in and I'm sure I had a dazed look. My wonderful girlfriend
was with me this time since hubby was out of town & I wanted to turn
around to her and say OMG - but I held on to some composure. He,
"Pedro", was sharply dressed in a pinstripe dark navy blue suit with a
white shirt that contrasted nicely with his tan face and his McDreamy
wavy brown hair! I kept thinking "Is he seriously a doctor? What doc
looks that good? (Ahem still love u hubby, if u read this!) But back
to McSteamy - he did not look worn from years of med school or late
nights. He could've been a celebrity for all I knew. Well, while I
can describe him in detail, sadly I cannot remember a thing he said.
Nothing (crickets chirping). Oh wait, he did tell me my normal doctor
would see me next time... darn...putting my dress and stilettos away
now. Is that what "chemo brain" means - forgetfulness - or is it the
inability to function in front of hawwwt doctors?

Ooh, I'm curious who this sub doc is! What was his full name? Need to look him up to match the visual with your description. :)
